Folks ~

This year tch-econ is again hosting at least one session at the Eastern
Economic Association meetings in New York, February 23-25. The topic of
one of the sessions is Study Abroad. I invite you to consider
submitting a paper on the general topic of study abroad for this
session. The papers will likely range from preparing students to study
abroad (a how-to sort of paper) to an analysis of (perhaps) the efficacy
of using local guides for short-term courses to (for example) the
outcome differentials between short-term study abroad and full term
experiences. The sky is the limit; no topic is too mundane or too
esoteric for consideration. Simply send me your paper title and a brief
informal abstract, and I will pull them into a (hopefully) coherent
whole.

If we get more papers that are appropriate than will fit into one
session, we will divide into multiple sessions.

On a slightly different note, if you have no interest in study abroad,
but do have an interest in some other aspect of teaching economics that
is not already represented at the Eastern meetings, let me know and I
will look into establishing an additional tch-econ session on that topic
to complement those already in place.

For more information on these meetings see
http://www.iona.edu/eea/conf2007/NYHome.html.

I look forward to hearing from you.
