I am doing research directed towards identifying the canonical
literatures (if any) of the various disciplines and would appreciate the
views of the members of this list. By canon, I am specifically refering
to those works, both books and articles, that you would expect an
entering grad student to read. Especially welcome would be reading lists
from survey courses although I am interested in others that are felt to
be especially important.
Please feel free to identify your list as being associated with
a particular tradition or school if that is applicable.
Please respond to me personally unless you feel that the list
would benefit from this discussion and if there is sufficient interest,
I will be happy to list the most common citations to the list.
Should I be so fortunate as to get the results into print I will
of course acknowledge those who have contributed. If you wish to remain anonymous, please so indicate.
Thank you,
